Last-minute enrolments are being accepted for the Invercargill City Council by-election this month.

Registrar of electors for the Invercargill electorate Carol Baxter said it was coming up to crunch time for people yet to enrol.

"If you haven't enrolled in time to get your voting papers in the mail, you can still enrol and cast a special vote in the Invercargill City Council by-election,” Ms Baxter said. "If you think you're enrolled but haven't received voting papers in the mail, then you need to update your enrolment details and cast a special vote as well.

“It's getting to crunch time."

People who enrol up to polling day on August 29 will need to contact Invercargill electoral officer Graham Low at the Invercargill City Council to get information on how to cast a special vote.
