Aussie trio arrested after food fight
GRANT BRYANT IN QUEENSTOWN
Queenstown police arrested three drunken Australian men for disorderly behaviour after they jumped the counter of McDonald's in Queenstown, kicking-off a food fight.
Acting sergeant Phil Hamlin said the trio went behind the counter of McDonald's on Camp St at 2.20am, helped themselves to''whatever they could get their hands on'' and used it as ammunition against staff and patrons alike.
''They started throwing everything they could get their hands on over the counter at other customers and staff as well,'' Mr Hamlin said.
Of the three arrested, one man was 29, while the others' ages had not been immediately recorded.
The trio will appear in the Queenstown District Court on Monday.
