A car rolled between Ettrick and Raes Junction on State Highway 8 yesterday morning, with the female passenger and the driver taken to Dunedin Hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

Emergency services received a call at 11.05am with St John Ambulance locating the car, which had come to rest on a small bank off the highway.

Millers Flat Fire Brigade volunteer Wes Reichel, who attended the accident, said the woman was already out of the vehicle when ambulance staff arrived. The Millers Flat unit stayed to help with traffic control while staff cleared the scene.

Fire appliances were also called from Lawrence and Roxburgh, but were stood down.

It was unknown whether adverse weather was a factor in the driver losing control and the car leaving the road.
