Invercargill police have released security camera footage of a break-in at a popular city pub.

Two masked, glove-wearing offenders are visible in the CCTV footage from the burglary at the Northern Tavern, on St Andrew St, during the early hours of yesterday morning.

The pair, who can be seen smashing the windowpane of a doorway to enter the bottle store, stole five or six bottles in the 4.30am raid before fleeing south towards Ritchie St.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have noticed anything unusual in the area before or after the time of the burglary.

Those with information should contact the Invercargill police or the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
