A South African man who threw a full can of alcohol at Queenstown police attending a disorderly incident in Hallenstein St on Saturday was lucky to be released on a pre-charge warning.
Sergeant Blair Duffy said the 23-year-old man was arrested at 11.20pm for disorderly behaviour and after being spoken to by police was given a pre-charge warning.
Five hours later police processed a 24-year-old Queenstown man for drink-driving in Lake Esplanade.
At 5.30am a 27-year-old Czech man was arrested for drink-driving in Shotover St when he blew 634mcg. He will appear in Queenstown District Court on December 3.
Wanaka police are investigating the theft of a car from an Ardmore St address at 1.35am on Saturday.
Watchhouse officer Kate Mckenzie-Smith said the car was found by its owners at 11.30am in Kennedy Cr. An iPod was reported missing from the car.
Police are also investigating the theft of a mountainbike stolen from an alleyway between Ardmore St and Lismore Park on Friday night. The bike had been chained up. Police are looking into CCTV footage in the hope of identifying the thief.
Police would also like to hear from anyone who knows the whereabouts of a child's scooter stolen from a Russell St address at about 8.30pm on Friday night.
