Two disoriented people were taken to hospital after they managed to get themselves out of their crashed car in Kelvin Heights yesterday.
Frankton fire brigade officer in charge Grant Bewley said the pair's car left Peninsula Rd at 2am about 200 metres from the entrance of the Hilton Queenstown.
It appeared the car was travelling towards the state highway end of Kelvin Hts when the driver lost control.
Their car was extensively damaged and ended up on its roof down a bank.
St John staff were called and the concussed pair were found at the hotel and taken to Lakes District Hospital for treatment, he said.
Meanwhile, a woman was treated for injuries to her shoulder after she was involved in a car crash on the Tarras-Cromwell highway yesterday morning.
The crash happened just after 10.15 about 1km north of Gilmore Rd.
