ES compliance manager on special leave
Environment Southland compliance manager Mark Hunter is on "special leave" until a meeting tomorrow where he will be questioned about his department.
Mr Hunter yesterday said he had chosen to take special leave this week, and did not want to say too much until after the meeting at the council.
"There are some discussions to be had and council has asked some questions and I have got to provide some answers, then they will decide what they want to do from there," he said.
Council chief executive Rob Phillips yesterday confirmed Mr Hunter had taken special leave, but it was Mr Hunter's choice and not directed by the council, he said.
He did not know when Mr Hunter would return to work.
"It was his call to go on leave, his decision," Mr Phillips said.
