John ''Boggy'' McDowell finished his final shift at Classic Hits FM this morning with the same song he started with in 1979: Let Your Love Flow by The Bellamy Brothers.

McDowell said the song was going out to his wife, Ann, who had put up with him getting up at 4.40am every work day for the past 33 years.

McDowell spent much of this morning receiving calls from well-wishers around the world.

He moves on to Coast Radio on January 7, which will allow for more leisurely mornings, he said.
