Queenstown police believe thefts from two cars parked in Man St at the weekend are likely to be related.
A wallet and camera were reported stolen at 5pm on Saturday from the passenger seat of an unlocked van, and a Leatherman and pouch were reported stolen at 1pm on Sunday from a locked car parked on the street.
Senior Constable Chris Blackford said he would be surprised if the two thefts were not related.
"As safe as people feel here, there's nowhere in the world you can leave items on the seat of an unlocked vehicle and expect them to be there may hours later."
An Invercargill man was arrested on Saturday at 10pm in Camp St in relation to a warrant to arrest, which was issued in the Invercargill District Court on Friday.
Police are also investigating after a parked car was hit at in Wynyard Cres at 1am on Sunday.
The offending vehicle hit the parked car and was accelerated away, Mr Blackford said.
