A 63-year-old Scottish man with a penchant for alcohol was kicked off a Qantas flight at Queenstown Airport on Saturday after abusing staff as he boarded a flight out of New Zealand.
Acting Sergeant Dan Andrew, of Queenstown police, said the man was escorted from the plane after he became aggressive and verbally abused a flight attendant.
Qantas staff noticed the man smelt of alcohol, Mr Andrew said.
Police escorted the man off the plane at 3pm and discovered he was known to them after having been detained for detoxification earlier in the month.
