Shades were the order of the day at the Remarkables Park Town Centre Teddy Bears' Picnic.

Siblings Aliah, 6, and Deo, 3, Edwards came prepared yesterday.

Chilling out in the sun with Aliah's giant teddy bear Sparkles and Deo's regular-sized furry friend Teddy, the pair and a large crowd of families were glued to a lunchtime magic show performances by Ronald McDonald.

The annual event included a bouncy castle, face painting, singing, dancing and fun.

Summerdaze festival co-ordinator Nicole Fairweather was delighted with the weather and turnout and said the range of children's entertainment of offer had proven to be popular.
