A 45-year-old Thornbury man is facing firearms-related charges after threatening an associate last night.

Acting Senior Sergeant Deon McNaught, of Invercargill, said Riverton police were called to a Thornbury property about 6.30pm.

The man was located and arrested about 45 minutes later in his vehicle.

He is to appear in the Invercargill District Court today.
