Police are awaiting the results of a blood test after a 20-year-old Queenstown man lost control of the car he was driving and hit a bank, rolling the vehicle in Gorge Rd yesterday morning.
Acting Sergeant Dan Andrew said the driver and his passenger were travelling toward Arthurs Pt when the incident occurred at 2am.
No injuries were reported and a blood sample was taken from the driver, he said.
Meanwhile, police arrested a 26-year-old Queenstown man and charged him with assault and possession of cannabis at 2am yesterday.
The man allegedly followed a couple home from town to their property, where a physical altercation began.
