Queenstown police are investigating after car and boat thefts in Kelvin Heights.
Acting Sergeant Daniel Andrew, of Queenstown, said at least 17 vehicles had been targeted overnight Friday-Saturday and the number could grow as the police were still receiving complaints.
Fuel was stolen from the boats and sports equipment, clothes, a sleeping bag and ammunition were among the items taken from the cars, most of which were not locked.
The boats, parked in people's driveways, were also damaged when the fuel lines were cut.
Some stolen gear, including the petrol containers, were found at Jardines Park.
Police wanted to hear from anyone who saw suspicious behaviour on the night of the thefts or found items that may have been stolen.
