Police have released the name of a 61-year-old agricultural spray contract worker who was found dead beside his overturned 4WD vehicle near a farm track on a Taieri property on Sunday.
John Ross McLean, known as Ross McLean, of Mosgiel may have been dead for 24 hours before being found by a police search and rescue team.
Senior Constable Robert Murray, of Dunedin, said the investigation was continuing with the 4WD awaiting examination.
It was still early days yet, he said.
Police launched a search and rescue operation after the family of the contractor reported he had failed to return home the previous night.
Police said the man was dead when searchers found him and it appeared he may have died the previous day.
