Formula 5000 driver Stan Redmond lost his fight for life yesterday after the horrific two-car crash at Teretonga Park last weekend.
Mr Redmond, 65, was competing in the final round of the MSC NZ F5000 Tasman Cup Revival Series when he was involved in a crash during the testing round last Friday.
He had been airlifted to Dunedin hospital, where he remained until his death yesterday. He had suffered a serious head injury and other internal injuries.
Mr Redmond was understood to been driving a Lola T332.
