An Indian couple involved in a car crash near Lake Hayes on Monday found themselves at the centre of police attention again yesterday after the woman's driving sparked complaints.
Having returned a damaged car to one rental company following the crash on Monday, the pair hired a car from another company and got back on the road.
Detective Lisa Watt, of Queenstown, said police stopped the woman at 3.20pm yesterday after receiving complaints about her erratic driving near Cardrona and the Arrowtown turnoff on State Highway 6. The woman had reportedly been crossing the centre line and driving too slow.
The woman was forbidden to drive, Ms Watt said.
The woman's 29-year-old husband was arrested on Monday night for careless driving after he caused a crash on State Highway 6 when he stopped suddenly to change gears in the middle of the road and was rear ended by a following motorist.
