The Dipton and Winton Fire Service were called to assist with a vehicle crash on the Dipton-Winton Highway last night.
Fire Service southern communications centre shift manager Karl Patterson said a vehicle had gone over a ditch into a paddock, near Benmore.
Mr Patterson said the female driver was out of the vehicle when the Fire Service arrived at 6.50pm. The driver was assessed in an ambulance for injury, he said.
An ambulance spokeswoman said the woman was transported to Southland Hospital but had no record of what her injuries were.
Meanwhile, an American tramper with an injured leg was airlifted from the Young Valley in Mt Aspiring National Park late on Monday afternoon.
The 63-year-old activated his locator beacon and was collected by a Wanaka search and rescue team.
He was taken to the Wanaka Medical Centre with a suspected fractured leg.
