The two Demons teams proved that they were the top two teams in the Major League Softball competition at Surrey Park on Saturday and are ready to contest the final later this month.

Demons Blue defeated ILT Dodgers 18-3, and Demons Red accounted for Panthers 7-0 as they again highligted they remain the best two teams in the league.

Demons Blue had a good day with the bat, totalling 19 hits to Dodgers' three, with Aaron Wakelin and Hunter Barlow recording home runs.

Wakelin was the pick for the afternoon, batting in five runs from his three hits.

Danny Shayler was ever reliable with three hits, Keegan Hilhorst also had three hits and pitched a steady game, taking 10 strikeouts.

Demons Red pitcher, Daniel Perry, did something special in the second game, pitching a no opposition hits game and struck out 11 of the 15 batters faced, with no Panthers batter reaching base.

As well as his pitching, Perry took two hits with the bat, as did Andrew Karsten, with Karsten taking a diving drive catch to dispense with the last Panthers batter and batted in the last two Demons runs to finish the game in the fifth.

Other Demons batters were Scott Sinclair, William Campbell and Mathew Telfer.

The Premier 1 diamond saw teams pushing for the top four spot and the semifinals next Saturday.

Demons have finished in the top spot, followed by Panthers Wildcats, Titans and Port.
