Missing man found safe
A former Invercargill man who went missing in Oamaru has been found safe and well.
Paul Canning, who had been missing since Sunday, was found in an empty building in Oamaru.
He had last been seen in the Lune St area of Oamaru about 10pm on Sunday, before being found yesterday afternoon.
He was raised in Invercargill and still has family in the area.
Acting Inspector John Robinson, of police communications, said search and rescue were sent from Dunedin to help with the search yesterday.
One of Mr Canning's daughters, Mel Canning, of Invercargill, said she was relieved to hear he had been found and hoped to visit him in the next couple of weeks.
Oamaru police thanked the public for helping find Mr Canning.
