A mum of two was viciously assaulted in her home in Gore last night.
Sergeant Greg Ballantyne, of Gore, said police were investigating the attack which occurred in Hamilton Pl about 8.30pm.
The woman was at home with her teenage children when a couple of offenders entered her home and assaulted her, Mr Ballantyne said.
She was taken to Gore hospital by ambulance and treated for facial injuries.
A weapon was not used and it appeared the offenders were known to the victim, he said.
