Police outside a farm in Southland this afternoon.

Police were called to a Southland farm this afternoon after a farm worker threatened to kill his boss.

When the Times arrived they saw a police officer putting a gun back into the police car.

The farm owner, on the Lorneville-Dacre highway, said he called police after a worker threatened to kill him and stock.

Police were not available for comment this afternoon.
