Another Aussie shoplifter has been nabbed by police in Queenstown.
Senior Constable Chris Blackfordsaid yesterday the 25-year-old man was caught shoplifting from the Alta store, in Duke St, at 6.40pm on Monday.
He was given a precharge warning but later in the evening he was arrested and charged with wilful damage after allegedly smashing a Westpac window in Shotover St.
He is expected to appear before a registrar in the Queenstown District Court on September 2.
On Monday, Reuben William Wikitera, 18, a Canberra student, appeared before Judge Kevin Phillips for stealing clothing, jewellery, greenstone and ski goggles valued at more than $1600 between August 18 and 22.
The Dickson College student was fined $1700 for the shoplifting spree during a school sporting trip to New Zealand. Wikiterawas part of a group with 18 students and three teachers to Queenstown and the Southern Lakes region.
