The Clutha District Council has received 114 submissions on the concept design ideas for the Balclutha Streetscape Upgrade.
Submissions on what the design of the $2.6million upgrade should look like and include closed last week after a month-long submission period.
Council manager district assets Jules Witt said that it was evident that many submitters had put a lot of time and thought into their feedback.
''The overall impression coming through in the submissions, and at the information day/public meeting, is that people are excited about the opportunity to revitalise Balclutha's town centre,'' he said.
''Some people do have specific concerns around issues such as potential loss of car parks, and the number of proposed new trees and related maintenance/visibility issues, but overall the response has been very constructive and positive.''
Those submitters who have indicated they wished to speak to their submissions can do so today during the hearing sessions between 4pm and 5.30pm.
Council staff will analyse the submissions in detail for the district assets committee meeting to consider on September 12.
The committee will make recommendations to the September 26 full council meeting.
