Most women candidates to attend city forum

Most of the women offering themselves as candidates in the coming local body elections have said yes to an invitation from National Council of Women Southland branch president Lyn Devery to speak at a public forum.

The forum will be held at 7.30pm on Tuesday at the Salvation Army centre in Tay St.

Entry will be by gold coin donation. The female candidates who will be at the forum are: Environment Southland - Lyndal Ludlow, Pauline McIntosh, Marion Miller, Jan Riddell.

Invercargill City Council - Rebecca Rae Amundsen, Karen Frances Arnold, Helen Kylie Fowler.

Invercargill Licensing Trust - Angela Mary Newell, Suzanne Lena Prentice.

Southern District Health Board, Southland constituency: Kaye Crowther, Tracy Wright Tawha.

Monica Toretto, who is standing for Environment Southland, is unable to attend.
