Wanaka police are disgusted by the behaviour of a ''feral'' Swedish woman who urinated in a police cell after she was arrested for fighting with another female yesterday morning.
Sergeant Paul Crosswell, of Wanaka, said the 27-year-old woman was ''particularly difficult and extremely intoxicated''.
Police in a passing patrol car saw her fighting and arrested her for disorderly behaviour.
She become more ''out of control'' and began screaming and banging on the door of her cell before urinating in it.
''She was just a feral piece of work,'' Mr Crosswell said.
The woman's 27-year-old Welsh boyfriend was also arrested after he arrived at the Wanaka police station to protest the woman's innocence.
Meanwhile, police have arrested a 21-year-old Queenstown man for an assault in the resort on July 14.
A 37-year-old Auckland male was assaulted on the dance floor at the Skybar.
He suffered significant facial injuries that required surgery.
The man has been charged with wounding with intent to injure and is expected to appear in the Queenstown District Court today.
