Book sale reaches final chapter
Book buyers have only a short time left to line their personal libraries with tomes from the annual Invercargill library book sale.
Library team leader of customer experience, Donald Cunningham, said the sale had been running since Friday and would probably finish today or tomorrow.
The sale offers books that have been withdrawn because they are no longer issued frequently enough, Mr Cunningham said.
"The books go to whoever is happy to give them a good home."
There was no way of knowing how many books were up for sale because once a book was withdrawn the library no longer kept records.
Mr Cunningham said proceeds from the sale go back to the Invercargill City Council.
