Time to get your moggies fixed
SPCA offers discounted desexingAMANDA PARKINSON
Southland cat lovers will be able to desex their feline friends for a donation next month.
The SPCA Southland will host a desexing van from November 1 to 21 at the Invercargill shelter.
The service will be available to pet-owners who hold a current community service card of a gold card.
SPCA manager Mary Bradley stressed the importance of desexing cats after the charity rehomed more than 780 kittens during the past year.
''We haven't had the van for two years now and we are inundated with kittens ... we had 131 kittens dumped here in March this year alone,'' Ms Bradley said.
Cat-owners could make an appointment by calling the SPCA office, she said. ''We have 75 owners registered so far, but we have room for more.''
