The Salford School board of trustees chairwoman Chris Cole has resigned.
Ms Cole circulated her resignation letter to staff yesterday.
Her resignation comes after the Ministry of Education last year appointed Peter Macdonald as limited statutory manager at the school following an Education Review Office report which noted high staff turnover and dissatisfaction.
While Ms Cole declined to comment when contacted yesterday, in her letter she says she resigned in part because of "the increased pressure and time requirement on me as chair since the ERO review but also because I can no longer maintain my objectivity in my role as board chair".
"This loss of objectivity is very concerning to me and would mean I could not fulfil my role as chair as required".
