A public meeting to discuss the ideas of the Owaka Going Forward group will be held on December 9 at 7.30pm in Owaka Memorial Community Centre supper room.
The group has worked for the past year on ideas to improve the look and feel of Owaka including the central corner of the town, which has been a problem for so long. Councillor Hilary McNab has been looking at the possibility of putting some of the power lines underground.
Keeping the entrances to the town attractive has been another focus.
Perhaps the most interesting will be the conceptual pictures of a large steel waka planned as a focal point for the town centre.
