This year's Mount Aspiring College Dux is Jamie Bowley. He is a student of academic excellence of the highest order in computing, economics, mathematics with calculus and physics.
He completed the Students in the Community programme with distinction, has been presented with the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award and is a member of the under-19 men's coxed four who won at the national rowing championships this year.
Harrison Hunter is this year's Dux of Southland Boys' High School. Harrison gained excellence prizes in biology, English, physics, chemistry, mathematics with calculus and physical education.
He was a prefect in 2013 and gained academic and leadership Blues awards. He gained excellence endorsements in NCEA Levels 1 and 2.
During his time at school, Harrison has been a fervent member of the second XV rugby team and the third XI hockey team.
He has been a peer support leader and peer reading tutor. Harrison intends to take a gap year in 2014 in Scotland, then undertake health sciences at the University of Otago in 2015.
