The Southland District Council's school holiday programme had its biggest day in three years this week.
Yesterday it was held at Central Southland College in Winton, though programme co-ordinator Laura Russell said the event's biggest day since it began three years ago was in Riverton on Tuesday, when 71 children turned up for some school holiday entertainment.
"It was really lucky that their parents had registered, because I was able to bring more staff in," Ms Russell said.
There were 52 children attending the programme in Winton yesterday. The programme is in Winton again tomorrow before heading to Otautau, Wyndham and Tokanui next week.
