Police find missing Queenstown man
GRANT BRYANT IN QUEENSTOWN
Police last night arrested a man who escaped from an Invercargill mental health unit.
Adam Crawford, 21, of Queenstown, was arrested in an Arrowtown camping ground, after he used his cellphone.
He first broke out of the unit on Monday and again on Tuesday.
On Wednesday police issued a plea for public help in locating Crawford - along with a warning not to approach him because of safety concerns.
Senior constable Chris Blackford this morning said Crawford was arrested at 8.50pm last night.
He has been charged with several offences and has been transferred to a more secure mental health unit in Dunedin, Mr Blackford said.
Police honed in on Crawford's camping spot after he used his cell phone, by using triangulation techniques, Mr Blackford said.
