Police still probing death
Police are still investigating the death of a 3-month-old baby boy who died after suffering serious injuries in Riverton.
Honour Shamrock Ashworth was flown to Starship children's hospital in Auckland with serious injuries on January 13 after a reported fall at a Riverton house.
He died early on January 15 as a result of the injuries.
Emergency services were called to the Havelock St home at 7.25pm and told a baby boy had suffered serious injuries and was unresponsive.
Southland area manager prevention, Inspector Olaf Jensen, said the investigation was ongoing. The investigation into the baby's death was on behalf of the coroner and to determine whether there was any criminal culpability, police said.
Honour was buried by his family in Riverton on Wednesday.
