Thousands of youngsters are waving goodbye to the summer holidays and hello to school books this week.
For young Campbell Sands, 5, who was heading to his first day of school this morning with his brother Morgan, 7, it was exciting but also slightly nerve-wracking.
The youngsters are among thousands heading in to the classroom around the south this week.
While many schools have opted to start the school year this week, others have chosen to delay the start until Monday.
With southern streets again crowded with parents and caregivers dropping off and picking up their kids, police are reminding motorists of the need to be careful around school zones.
