A Queenstown teenager has been arrested after allegedly walking up to an Asian tourist and pointing an airgun at his face.
Senior constable Chris Blackford, of Queenstown, said the alleged incident happened at 3pm on Sunday. A 17-year-old male was with a group of teenagers at the bottom of The Mall near the main town pier. He allegedly brandished a plastic airgun, walked up to an Asian man and pointed the gun towards his face, holding the weapon there for a few seconds.
Police arrested the teenager and were considering charges of threatening behaviour and presenting a firearm.
