Crowds flocked to the Mataura rodeo grounds on Saturday to get a piece of the action as the southern circuit arrived in Southland.
The 45th annual rodeo is the second to last of the southern circuit and had more than 350 entries across the various events.
Spills and thrills drew a large crowd that got right in behind the cowboys and cowgirls competing in the range of competitions including barrel racing, bull riding and steer wrestling.
The action continued yesterday at the Southland Rodeo, with spectators and competitors making the most of the sunny weather.
