The Southern Lakes region has been voted New Zealand's most romantic spot, with 29 percent of Kiwis surveyed labelling it their No 1 spot for love in Durex's Valentines Day survey.
The Coromandel secured second place with 13 percent, and Hanmer Springs came in with nine percent of the vote.
Gisborne and the East Cape came in as the least romantic places.
Durex New Zealand consumer and shopper marketing manager Emma Smith said the research revealed although we are romantics at heart, Kiwis also needed to be doing more to keep things exciting in the bedroom.
