Farmers are being encouraged to bid up for a new bale clamp, with the money raised going to the Bluff Coastguard.
Webbline Agriculture have put a $1 reserve on their Balemaster bale clamp.
The clamp, which was on display at the Southern Field Days, is valued at about $2000.
Webbline Agriculture Gore sales manager Glen Malcolm said the company wanted to give something back to the local community.
"Bluff Coastguard is pushing hard for a new boat and we want to help," he said.
The clamp is being auctioned on Trade Me and bidding closes today at 9pm.
Mr Malcolm said the bale clamp was an entry level clamp that could pick up round bales and square bales and was better suited to farmers than contractors.
