Cyclist hurt in collision
A cyclist has been taken to Southland Hospital with moderate injuries after a crash with a car in the Invercargill suburb of Hawthorndale early this morning.
A fire communications spokesman said a fire crew responded to reports of an incident between a car and a cyclist at the intersection of Anglem and Tay streets just before 7am.
When fire crews arrived at the scene, the cyclist was in the care of St John staff. A St John Ambulance spokesman said a man in his 40s was taken to hospital with leg and arm injuries.
