Police identify woman on beach
The body of an elderly woman discovered on a Dunedin beach yesterday morning has now been identified, Dunedin Police say.
However, few details are being released, other than the woman was 83 years-old, from Dunedin, and the circumstances surrounding her death are not considered suspicious by police.
The matter has been referred to the coroner, Police say, and they are now working on making contact with the woman's next of kin.
The woman's body was found on St Clair Beach by a man walking his dog around 6am yesterday.
