Wanaka police are investigating an attack on heavy machinery at Wanaka Airport overnight on Wednesday that caused thousands of dollars of damage.
Senior constable Ian Henderson, of Wanaka, said police were called to the airport yesterday morning after a grader, heavy dump truck and a tanker valued at more than $100,000, were found to have air brake lines cut and radiator hoses removed.
Police had a strong lead and would be following it up, Mr Henderson said.
