Police are waiting to view CCTV footage after a passenger claimed $1000 in cash was stolen from a Queenstown Airport ATM.
Senior Constable Chris Blackford, of Queenstown, said a man reported the theft to police on Wednesday morning, claiming he was distracted during a withdrawal. He forgot his cash and told police the money was stolen. Officers were waiting to view airport CCTV footage.
Meanwhile, a 32-year-old Brazilian man was detoxed at Queenstown station after members of the public called police at 3.30am yesterday. The man, who was not charged, was unconscious and lying on a bench in The Mall.
A Chinese tourist was given an on-the-spot infringement notice for failing to give way at a roundabout in Queenstown. She failed to give way in Camp St and caused a crash at 5.35pm. No-one was injured.
