A giant vapour trail creates an interesting view in the sky over Te Anau on Sunday afternoon.
The trail was created by jet aircraft possibly heading to Australia, and was the longest Te Anau residents said they had seen.
Vapour trails are created when water vapour from hot jet engine exhaust mixes with the much colder atmosphere and freezes. (Source: scientificamerican.com)
