The Central Otago District Council wants to increase its rate take from $24 million to $24.7m.
Under the proposed annual plan, a $3.7m farm in Cromwell would face a $1786.17 rise in rates to $7917.11 and a Maniototo farm valued at $1.4m would pay $436.08 more than the $2318.98 of last year. A Roxburgh farm property valued at $1.5m would see the $2877.80 rates bill reduce $86.53.
Cromwell residents have the cheapest proposed average rate bill of $1911.76; Ranfurly $1961.37; Naseby $1992.09; Omakau $2238.47; Alexandra $2305.30; and Roxburgh $2311.10. None of the figures include volumetric water charges.
Council corporate services manager Susan Finlay said there were no notable changes in any of the fees and charges across the area.
