Two more arrests follow assault
Police have arrested two more people in relation to an assault in Gore in February that left a man with serious head injuries.
The victim is still in Dunedin Hospital.
A 26-year-old man and a 48-year-old man, both from Gore, were arrested yesterday and charged with unlawful assembly and possession of an offensive weapon.
They will appear in the Gore District Court today.
Detective Sergeant Greg Baird, of Gore, said the latest arrests came after two previous arrests and police wanted to thank people for their assistance.
A-19-year-old man was arrested last week and charged with disorder while an 18-year-old man appeared in the Invercargill District Court in February 21 on a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Police were called to a report of two groups fighting with weapons near Hamilton and Oxford streets about 10pm on February 16.
