From haircuts and massages to tattoos and car sales, there was anything and everything on offer at the Women's Lifestyle Expo in Invercargill at the weekend.

Thousands of people flocked to the SIT Velodrome for the two-day event and, while most were women, a few men were spotted checking out some of the 140 stalls.

The expo featured everything from health and beauty to business products and information, home and garden advice and jewellery.

Food and wine samples were offered, as well as massages, crafts, fitness and a multitude of competitions.

Women's Lifestyle Expo organiser Robert Woodhouse was unsure of the number of people who had come through the doors but hoped for 6000-7000 .

The "great girls day out" had been busy across both days and had run smoothly, he said.

"The beauty of this show is that women stay shopping and having fun with their mates."

Woodhouse looked forward to the expo being held in the new ILT Stadium Southland next year.
