Police had to use road spikes to stop a teenage driver after a pursuit from Gore to Mataura on Friday night.
Sergeant Craig Sinclair, of Gore, said the youth failed to stop for a routine police check.
Road spikes were laid on Glendhu Rd, on the outskirts of Mataura, and the Toyota car was brought to a halt. Though not at high speed, the teenager's driving was dangerous, Mr Sinclair said.
An 18-year-old Mataura youth has been charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop for police. He is scheduled to appear in the Gore District Court on March 24.
