London is a city with so much history that you're always curious about what happened before.

Who stood on this street? Where did this come from? What happened when?

And because London's architecture has remarkably stayed the same over the years, it's easy to "time travel" and compare what life was like back then to what it is is now.

This video shows 80 years of difference in London in each scene.

The video is made by Simon Smith and is called Wonderful London 1924 and 2014.

He uses historical footage of London from 1924 with new footage he shoots in 2014 and splices them together into one frame.

Smith writes:

"In 1924, Harry B. Parkingson and Frank Miller documented London in a fantastic series of short films, known as Wonderful London. Over the last few months, I have stood in their foot-steps, recapturing their shots exactly, and have blended the two together creating a window through time."

It's a looking glass into the past.
