As a visitor to your city I write to express my disgust that the Invercargill City Council issued an infringement notice to me, and as far as I could see, many others close to where I was parked, on Monday, January 14.
OPINION: My diary and calendar state that is Southland Anniversary Day and on the parking meter it says no charge on public holidays. How can the council charge on that day?
I have since heard that the council takes Southland Anniversary Day on a different date. How ridiculous.
My infringement has been paid to a teller without a smile. I hope the council spent it well.
