OPINION: As a visitor to your city I write to express my disgust that the Invercargill City Council issued an infringement notice to me, and as far as I could see, many others close to where I was parked, on Monday, January 14.
My diary and calendar state that is Southland Anniversary Day and on the parking meter it says no charge on public holidays. How can the council charge on that day?
I have since heard that the council takes Southland Anniversary Day on a different date. How ridiculous.
My infringement has been paid to a teller without a smile. I hope the council spent it well.
